An employee asks: "How much PTO do I have left?" — "Does our medical plan cover IVF?" — "Why was my last paycheck different?" The agent:
- Reads your published policies plus the employee's own Fusion record.
- Answers in plain language, scoped to the employee's country, plan, and role.
- Hands off to a human HRBP when the question is sensitive or out of scope.
Why it matters
This is where employee NPS for HR is won or lost. Employees expect Spotify-level UX from internal apps. A 3-day SLA on a benefits question is no longer acceptable; an instant, grounded answer is.
Tradeoffs
- Hallucination risk is real if the policy corpus is stale or contradictory. Clean policies first; deploy the agent second.
- Sensitive topics (mental health benefits, parental leave, comp questions) need a human path. The agent should know what it doesn't answer.
- Localization matters — a US policy answer to a UK employee is worse than no answer.
